CHOOSING the right BIBLE to READ is important. Because there are different translations of the original manuscripts.
I myself began reading the King James Version (KJV). Then moved to the New International Version (NIV) and now use the English Standard Version (ESV).
If you are a new believer, you might want to choose the New Living Translation (NLT). As the NLT is the second highest selling Bible, behind the NIV. It may also be easier to read and understand as a new believer.
The New King James Version (NKJV) is also widely used and was top 5 in sales, when I last checked. It is closer to the older scripture of the (KJV), but translated to be easier to read and understand.
