It had been 26 years, since I lost contact with my daughter.
I remember when she was about 2 years old. Her mom and I this one evening, had decided to have some quiet time watching tv and we had put her to bed. Then she began climbing out, to come running in to us.
I had gotten up from the couch and carried her back to bed several times. But she kept climbing out again and again and running into the room. It had gotten to be a contest of wills as she continued to do this. So, I began counting ... to add to the fun and finally after her 25th attempt, there was rest.
Then, there was this one time, when we were at the beach and she was maybe 3 or 4. We were walking in the low tide, holding hands. Suddenly, a big wave had come up and she no longer had ahold of my hand.
I had quickly looked to where she was, but I didn't see her and realized that she had been taken under. She was gone and I had just seconds to choose the right location to reach down or lose her.
I reached down into the water to where she was and I believe today, that my hand was guided to her.
At her age of 16 , I had moved because I was not controlling my emotions and actions, due to the street drugs that I was using. The move was to remove myself to provide a safe distance for everyone.
After making some calls and setting up an interview in Louisiana. Notice was given to the casino I worked at in Laughlin, NV, my gear was packed and I sorrowfully and regretfully said my goodbyes.
Once arriving in Louisiana a casino offered work, that was accepted. My studies began in order to get licensed to sell real estate there and after 4 years. It was realized that for the same work, more could be earned in Las Vegas. Almost 4 times more, then what I was making in Louisiana.
Arriving in Las Vegas, I was able to get a job working in another casino and having years of experience as a dealer/boss, made it almost easy. However, my goal was to work there until I obtained my Nevada real estate license.
I had also begun a search for my daughter, when I arrived in 1998. Knowing that she was living 100 miles south of Las Vegas, at the time I left. I had gotten a tip, but missed the opportunity to find out where she was. So, I hired a private eye and the P.I. could not find her.
Then in November of 2023, a "new friend suggestion" popped up on my Facebook and there she was. So, I sent her a "friend request" and it was accepted. We had begun messaging each other to get reacquainted and I did not know where she might be living.
I told her that I was living in Las Vegas and I gave her the location. I then received a response back from her and she explained that she also lives in Las Vegas. Plus, she added that she lives on the same street.
What are the chances after 26 years?
Then, Jesus appeared in my dream.
